There comes a point in every woman’s journey—especially for Black women navigating faith, family, career, and community—when we begin to ask deeper questions:  Why am I here? What am I called to do? Is there more to this life than checking boxes and keeping everyone else afloat?

The answer is yes. There is purpose tucked inside of you—and it’s not something you have to chase. It’s something you uncover, step by step, as you learn to listen more deeply to God, and to yourself.

Your purpose isn’t only tied to a job, a role, or a position. It’s the unique way you reflect God’s light in the world. It’s how you love, how you lead, how you serve. It’s the imprint you leave in every room you enter and every life you touch.

You don’t have to be famous to be purposeful. You just have to be faithful.

Signs You’re Walking in Purpose

• Peace that doesn’t come from performance.
• A quiet knowing that your “yes” is aligned with something bigger.
• Impact that flows even when no one is watching.

Purpose often looks like obedience in the small things. The quiet decision to show up. The discipline to grow. The courage to say no to good things so you can say yes to the right ones.

Finding purpose often means shedding old expectations—some placed on us, some we placed on ourselves. It requires releasing the fear of disappointment, the grip of perfectionism, and the guilt of choosing ourselves.

You’re not being selfish. You’re being intentional. And that intention will make room for joy, clarity, and divine alignment.

You don’t have to earn your purpose. You were born with it. It’s been with you all along, woven into your laughter, your tears, your passions, your prayers. Finding it is not about becoming someone else—it’s about coming home to yourself. So take the step. Listen closely. Be still and trust what stirs in your spirit. You are not lost. You are being led.
